Amuntai, South Kalimantan 1/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District in South Kalimantan is now enlisted as the Child-Friendly District (KLA) as announced by the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection at the National Family Day (Harganas) and National Children's Day (HAN) commemoration in Pekan Baru, Riau.
Head of the HSU Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (BPPPA) Gusti Iskandariah in Amuntai, Monday (31/7), said the success of HSU into this category became a sweet present on Harganas and HAN 2017.
"It may be said that over 60 percent of the criteria required to become the Child-Friendly District have been carried out, our program is to complement the various shortcomings," said Gusti.
The requirements to be KLA include the human resources, regional regulations, partnerships, institutions and programs implemented covering several clusters ranging from civil and freedom, family environment and alternative care, basic health and welfare, education and leisure use and cultural activities, to Special protection.
All the cluster stages have been implemented by the government and society, so that HSU deserves to be KLA, although some shortcomings still need to be addressed such as increasing the role of the business world.
It is expected that the village government can help allocate some village funds for the fulfillment of children's rights in the village, such as children's playroom, child-friendly health center, child-friendly school, school safe route for children and so on.
"Space for children to develop creativity, friends for children information, services for children with disability, is another circle that also becomes our homework ahead," he explained.
KLA is a child-based development through the integration of commitments and government, community and business resources. In recent years, BPPPA has cooperated with related SKPD has tried to realize HSU as KLA.
Through the KLA program, he said, several problems in the field of population, health, and education at the same time can be resolved such as decreased malnutrition rate, young marriage, decreased child violence, reducing the number of smokers, decreasing the number of traffic accidents among children and others.
