Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru District Government is making maximum preparation for prestigious provincial-level sporting event, the XII South Kalimantan Provincial Games (Porprov) in Tanah Laut District.
Kotabaru Regional Secretary Eka Saprudin highlighted the importance of maintaining high morale and motivation for all parties, especially sports officials and athletes, in the approaching sports event.
"We are targeting Kotabaru to be in the top three in the final standing, even though our budget is still limited," he said here as reported on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).

"Our motivation must not wane. Dreaming to be the first winner is not wrong, instead it drives us. Although our budget is limited, our achievement must be extraordinary,” he pointed out.
Due to the short time remaining before the sport week, he urged all parties prepare thoroughly, both technically and administratively.
He emphasized the importance of coordinating with related agencies, such as schools and workplaces, considering some athletes are students or active workers.
Meanwhile, Head of Kotabaru Tourism, Youth and Sports Office (Disparpora) Sony Tua Halomoan informed that training center (TC) will be held for 40 days.
“Our total contingent quota is 650 people, consisting of 500 athletes and 150 coaches. TC can only last for 40 days due to budgetary considerations. But, we remain flexible, depending on the condition in the ground,” he said.
