Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) encourages the local boards of sports to tirelessly continue to give guidance to young talented athletes as the next generation that will make a proud name of the district.
Chairman of the Kotabaru DPRD Syairi Mukhlis here suggested that all sports respectively look for (what he called as) "foster father" that will provide a continuous coaching for the athletes.
"In that way, hopefully we will produce well-groomed players (including in badminton) that are able to compete at the higher level,” Syairi said to the board of the Kotabaru chapter of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) while holding inter-subdistrict badmintonchampionship.
He bolstered the Kotabaru inter-subdistrict badminton championship as an effort to find talented athletes to be coached for the national competition.
Syairi also hopes that all big companies in Kotabaru will be willing to be foster fathers for the sports through their corporate social responsibility program.
