Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Acting Regent of South Hulu Sungai (HSS), South Kalimantan, Hermansyah, officiated anti-extortion dissemination for primary and secondary schools at the Regent's Pavilion, Kandangan.
“I hope that this activity is not just a socialization, but will become our joint commitment to eradicate extortion in our area,” he remarked in Kandangan, Thursday,
He warned that illegal levies have damaged the life of community, nation and state, thus the dissemination of eradication of illegal levies (saber pungli) is expected to be the government's program to eliminate extortion in the district.
He also reminded school principals and school committees to always be careful in carrying out their duties and work, always communicate and coordinate with related parties, to prevent extortion due to ignorance of the applicable regulations.
In order to make the district free from extortion, prevention efforts must be intensified not only through dissemination, but need continuous plan.
“Of course we hope for the support and active role of all element of the community,” he pointed out.
HSS Deputy Chief of Police Commisioner Fahmi Ansori as Chief of HSS Saber Pungli (Illegal Levies Eradication) said that the aim of socialization of saber pungli in elementary and junior high school environment is to provide information and to build a joint commitment to eradicate extortion in the community, including teaching staff and parents of students.
Also attended were HSS Regional Secretary Muhammad Noor, HSS Forkopimda (Leadership Coordination Forum), Assistants of Administratio, Chairman of MUI, Head of HSS InspectorateS, Head of Education and Culture Office, heads of Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD), school principals and school committees, and members of HSS Saber Pungli Team.
