Martapura, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Regent of Banjar, South Kalimantan Province, Saidi Mansyur expected that female Quran memorizer from Banjar, Nuriah, to be able to bring the glory name of Indonesia at the International Quran Recital Competition (MTQ).
"We hope that Nuriah will make the best achievement and bring the good name to Indonesia, especially Banjar District, at the international MTQ event," said Saidi in Martapura, Thursday.
The Regent has just received an audience with Nuriah, who was accompanied by Chairman of the Banjar Tilawatil Quran Development Institute (LPTQ) Masruri.
Saidi congratulated and motivated Nuriah who will take part in the international MTQ to take place on February 17-22, 2024 in Teheran, Iran.
"We and the entire community in Banjar certainly pray that Nuriah will be able to achieve the best achievement, espeially in international event competing with other countries in the world," said Saidi.
Regent Saidi advised Nuriah to prepared herself as well as possible, maintain her health, and keep practicing to hone her skill so she can achieve the best performance.
Saidi also asked the board of LPTQ to support their fostered children so they are able to achieve the best achievement in regional, national and international events to bring the good name of the region and country.
Chairman of LPTQ Banjar Masruri said that Nuriah was chosen to represent Indonesia at the prestigious event in Hifidzhil (memorizing) Qur'an 30 Juz after undergoing the online competition stages.
