Martapura, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The District Government of Banjar, South Kalimantan, won the 2023 award for caring human rights from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) South Kalimantan.
The award was handed over by South Kalimantan Regional Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar, accompanied by Head of the South Kalimantan Office of Ministry of Law and Human Rights Faisol Ali, to Banjar Deputy Regent Said Idrus Al-Habsy in Banjarbaru, Thursday (January 25, 2024).
"Banjar government is one of 9 districts and cities in South Kalimantan who received the awards as an appreciation for regional government's concern regarding human rights," said Roy.
Roy hopes that the awards will further encourage concern for human rights as an issue and the government's attention to society.
Deputy Regent Said Idrus Al-Habsy was very grateful for the award and hopes it will be an encouragement in realizing a just and civilized society.
"We are very grateful because we are able to receive the award for caring human rights for the 10th time. Hopefully our efforts to care for human rights will bring goodness," said Deputy Regent who was accompanied by Head of Legal Affairs A Rizal P.
Rizal added that the success in winning the award was proof of synergy of regional apparatus and vertical agencies as well as community support for the program launched by the regent and deputy regent.
"Everyone supports each other and synergize to realize theprogram so that it is able to meet the criteria, namely the fulfillment of civil rights, political and economical rights, as well as social and culture rihts of the community," he said.
