Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Ministry of Home Affairs bestowed the Very Innovative City Award on Banjarmasin based on the assessment of the Regional Innovation Index (IID) at the 2023 Innovative Government Award event.
Mayor of Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina was represented by the City's Assistant for Government and People's Welfare Machli Riyadi to receive the award in Jakarta, Tuesday (Dec 12, 2023), said Head of Research and Development of the City's Regional Planning, Research and Development Office Ignasius R.P. Salan here, Wednesday.
The ministry awarded 42 regions as the most innovative with five categories, 7 the most innovative provinces, 16 the most innovative districts, 10 the most innovative cities, 5 the most innovative disadvantaged regions, and 4 the most innovative border regions.
In addition, the ministry awarded 2 provinces, 25 districts, and 15 cities as the very innovative for they had Regional Innovation Index results of more than 60.00.
Banjarmasin was the only city government in Kalimantan awarded as the very innovative city, said Ignasius.
He said that the award was thanks to the hard work of all the Banjarmasin City Regional Work Units (SKPD) which had increased innovation maturity.
The Very Inovative City award, he said, becomes a motivation for Banjarmasin to win the Most Innovative City category with collaboration with partners.
“Hopefully the award received in 2023 would be a big motivation for the City Government of Banjarmasin to get better results in the next year's assessment,” said Ignasius.
