Marabahan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Barito Kuala (Batola) District Government has commenced the COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years on Tuesday (January 11, 2022).
Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS together with Commander of 1005/Batola Military Command Lt. Col. Arm. Ari Priyudono and Batola Police Chief AKBP Lalu Mochammad Syahir Arif witnessed when the fist COVID-19 vaccine inoculated at the state primary school SDN Ulu Benteng 2.
Interestingly, one of the sample for child vaccination was the daughter of Batola Police Chief AKBP Lalu Mochammad Syahir Arif, named Nadifa.
“It doesn't hurt. In fact I'm happy to get a gift,” she said, greeted by laughter from the people who witnessed it.
A gift of snack, eggs, and milk were indeed provided in the first phase of child vaccination at the SDN Ulu Benteng 2. It was to motivate children to get vaccinated.
Even though it was the first time, but the students of grade 1 to 6 seemed enthusiastic about participating in the vaccination process using the Coronavac vaccine from Sinovac.

Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS hopes that the process to run smoothly with no objection from the parents.
“We hope no one refuse. Even if they do, they will not be penalyzed,” she said.
The former chairman of the Provincial DPRD added that if there were parents who refused, they would be collected and given an understanding.
Noormiliyani expounded that vaccination of children aged 6-11 years is a positive step by the government to protect children from COVID-19, in addition to increasing the confidence of parents when their children participate in face-face learning in schools.
“As parents, we should support this vaccination in an effort to increase trust, so we no longer have to worry about children studying at school,” she said.
The Batola government has a targe to vaccinate 33.315 children in this child vaccination and planned to complete it by the end of March 2022.
The child vaccination at SDN Ulu Benteng 2 was also attended by Head of Health Office Hj Azizah Sri Widari, Head of Education and Culture Office Sumarji, acting Head of Satpol-PP Anjar Wijaya, Head of Marabahan Sub-district Eko Purnama Sakti, and related parties.
