Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent H Aulia Oktafiandi on Friday (Dec 24, 2021) in Barabai presented 78 bicycles to children who were orphaned because their parents died due to COVID-19.
The Regent stated that this compassion was one proof of the government's presence in the community who were directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, including the death of their parents causing them to become orphans.
"These bicycles are intended that the orphans will become independent personalities. When their parents are still around, they may be taken to school or to their desired destination, but when their parents are no longer there, these bicycles are expected to be their means of transportation," he said at the 62nd-anniversary commemoration of the district.
