Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Rivers in South Tapin Sub-district had overflowed their banks after the high rainfall and swamped some parts of Tamberangan Urban Village and Sawang Village.
Tapin Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported 314 people from 77 families were affected by the flood. Two of them have been evacuated using a rubber boat.
The flood occurred since Monday (Dec 20, 2021) afternoon and continued to rise in the night. The floodwater from the overflowing river reached 20-120 cm.

"At 08:30 WITA (Central Indonesia Time) it still flooding, but the water continues to subside," said Head of BPBD Said Abdul Nasir, Tuesday.
Even though the flood in several areas has receded, Said asked people to keep on vigilant considering the potential of rain.
