Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor or popularly known as Uncle Birin harvested Hiyung bird's eye chili in Tapin District and handed over assistance to build a hygienic house.
"The potential of Hiyung bird's eye chili is marvelous. It is developed, redeveloped, and expanded. We know that chili is needed by people all over Indonesia and abroad," he pointed out in Rantau, Saturday.
After harvesting with farmers and the Tapin government, the two-term governor said he was proud of the achievement of the Hiyung bird's eye chili.
"I think (its) marketing is not difficult, because many people consume it. Hopefully, it will be useful for everyone," he said.

To help farmers to develop, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government provided assistance to build a hygienic house for Hiyung bird's eye chili worth RP135 million.
Head of Tapin Agriculture Agency Wagimin said that the harvest area of Hiyung bird's eye chili is 287 hectares from the potential area of 450 hectares in Hiyung Village to Sungai Rutas Village.
"Alhamdulillah, up to eight harvests the production has reached 10.28 tons. The marketing is still local in South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan," he said.
