Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Mayors from across Kalimantan began their meeting (Muskomwil V) in Banjarmasin, Tuesday (Nov 26, 2019), by gowes or cycling sport.
Nine mayors, members of the Indonesian City Administration Association (Apeksi), explored Banjarmasin starting from Taman Edukasi (Educational Park) and ended their gowes at the green open space of Kamboja on Jalan Anang Adenansi.
Here each of the mayors planted tree. Samarinda Mayor planted velvet apple (buah mentega/(Diospyros blancoi A. DC), Mayor of Palangka Raya planted meranti tree (Shorea Leprosula Miq), Banjarbaru Mayor planted Langsat (L. domesticum var. domesticum), and Banjarmasin Mayor planted kasturi (Mangifera Casturi), while Balikpapan Mayor planted candlenut (Aleurites Moluccanus).
Tarakan Mayor planted ramania (Bouea Macrophylla), Mayor of Pontianak planted Ulin or ironwood (Eusideroxylon Zwageri). Bontang Mayor also planted ulin, Singkawang Mayor planted tengkawang (Shorea Singkawang), and chairman of Apeksi Board of Executive also planted tengkawang tree (Shorea Singkawang).
Chairman of Apeksi Komwil V Regional Kalimantan H Ibnu Sina remarked, the trees planted by the regional heads of Kalimantan will later become a memory and useful for the lives of children and grandchildren.
“This park is a city park, the trees we plant will be allowed to grow permanently, will not be changed and will be a memory for all mayors in Kalimantan for having their trees here. Hopefully this will be maintained well. So, when we visit here again, there are memories left in the city of Banjarmasin," he pointed out.
