Sebatik (ANTARA) - To mark the arrival of the fruit season, residents on Sebatik Island, Nunukan District, North Kalimantan Province, bordering Malaysia held a durian festival in Maspul Village, Sebatik Tengah District.
The festival was held on Wednesday, July 24 by residents as a way to promote the durian fruit as a superior commodity on Sebatik Island, the Head of Nunukan District Public Relations and Protocol, Hasan Basri in Nunukan, explained Tuesday.
The durian fruit of various sizes and qualities were displayed in front of local residents' houses for five kilometers, he added.
