Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Breaking fasting activities at the Banjarmasin Jami Mosque which is routinely carried out by mosque administrators by preparing four large pots of porridge beef soup.
"Every day, around 900 people break their fast in the mosque," said Secretary of the Banjarmasin Al Jami Foundation Drs H Radiansyah, Monday.
The porridge menu of beef soup which is the main dish every day consumes two big tin rice for once cook. The funds needed are Rp7 million per day to prepare the breaking fast menu.
"Thank God, we are not worried about funding because the assistance from pilgrims is overwhelming. So God willing, the sustenance flows to prepare iftar in the mosque," Radiansyah said.
As the second oldest mosque in Banjarmasin City which was founded in 1195 Hijriyah or in 1777 AD, Banjarmasin Jami Mosque which now stands majestically on Jalan Masjid Jami No. 01, Antasan Kecil Timur Urban Village, North Banjarmasin Subdistrict, is indeed a favorite place for people to break their fast together.
Not only residents around, worshipers break their fast also many come from far across the city of Banjarmasin. Including road users who pass at the time when breaking the fast arrives.
During fasting month, the management of the Jami Mosque also filled the Ramadhan with many activities. In addition to Tarawih Prayers, which led by KH Zuhdiannoor or Guru Zuhdi, whose worshipers spill out into the courtyard of the mosque, there are tadarus of the Al-Quran every night to finish at the end of Ramadan.
Then lecture at dawn every sahur and every Monday and Thursday for 15 to 30 minutes after zuhur. Next after the Asar every day during Ramadhan.
