Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of the South Kalimantan Office of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) Achmad Kholisun said the agency has prepared a stock of 20 tons of frozen meat for the province in March 2019.
"The number has increased compared to the previous month from 12 tons to 20 tons," Achmad Kholisun said in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.
The reason for this increase, according to him, is the 14th memorial death ceremony for the Guru Sekumpul Martapura.
The agency expected people do not worry about the shortage of meat stock. Besides, he said, the frozen meat is believed to stabilize prices in the market.
Separately, Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of South Kalimantan Herawanto said, the availability of frozen meat can help stabilize meat prices in the market.
In addition, he remarked, frozen meat is hygienic, fresh, durable and in terms of price not too expensive.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the South Kalimantan Indonesian Ulema Council Hafiz Anshary said that frozen meat distributed by South Kalimantan Bulog was guaranteed halal.
"The frozen meat distributed by Bulog South Kalimantan from India is undoubtedly halal," he said
