The South Kalimantan Chapter of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) is now waiting for sugar supply from the center for the province need in fasting month and Eid al-Fitr (or also known as lebaran).
"To face the fasting month and lebaran 2020, Bulog is still waiting for sugar delivery from the central," said the head of the agency Arif Mando in Banjarmasin, Thursday (March 5, 2020).
According to him, the sugar stock in South Kalimantan Bulog is currently very thin, because there is no additional supply from the central.
"Right now we are still waiting for the help of the center because the Bulog is still waiting for permission to import sugar from the Ministry of Trade to increase stock," he pointed out.
He explained that the sugar need in South Kalimantan is 3.000 to 5.000 tons per month. Out of 4.000 tons of Bulog stock here, 3.000 tons had been issued when welcoming the haul (condolence) of Guru Sekumpul Martapura.
"We hope the availability of sugar in South Kalimantan is maintained because there is still much stock at distributors," he said.
He also mentioned that the South Kalimantan Bulog's rice stock is now 17 thousand tons or sufficient to face Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr.
"The 17 thousand tons of rice stock is enough for the next five months," he affirmed.
