Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Korean businessmen from 16 companies expressed their interest in investing in the city of Banjarmasin, capital of South Kalimantan Province.
Their interest was confirmed in a meeting with the Government of Banjarmasin City led by Mayor H. Ibnu Sina in City Hall.
The mayor said the arrival of South Korean entrepreneurs to Banjarmasin followed up the MoU with provincial and municipal governments to explore investment.
"The South Korean businessmen come to Banjarmasin to see the conditions directly, so we will point to some locations that we have projected for them in investing," said Ibn Sina.
The investment potentials directed by the city government include the development of an integrated port and an integrated economic location in Mantuil, South Banjarmasin.
He mentioned, the foreign businessmen come from various fields of business, including fertilizer, LED lights, heavy equipment and so on.
"So we offer various kinds to invest, such as the development of water company PDAM, power plants, ports, to tourism," said Ibnu Sina.
He disclosed the assessment of investment with South Korean businessmen was originated from his visit to their country. "When I'm in South Korea, I've met them, and visited their company, so we're sure of their seriousness to invest in our region," he said.
Ibnu Sina stated Banjarmasin is very open to investment because this area has great potential for economic development in the field of ports, trade, tourism, and services.
