Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Speaker of Kotabaru DPRD Suwanti, accompanied by Deputy I and II, held a hearing (RDP) with the South Kalimantan Labor Movement Alliance (Gerbaksi) in the joint meeting room of the DPRD
Suwanti said that the RDP was held because they had several aspirations to convey regarding their basic rights.
"The issues raised included acccelerating the bill on protection of palm oil labors, the district minimum wage (UMK) and sectoral wages for 2026 with proposed increases, palm oil labor representation on the Wage Council, and establishment of layoff task force, " she said in Kotabaru as reported on Wednesday.

She promised that her team would make every effort that their proposals could be accomodated for the upcoming year's program.
"Insya Allah (Gold Willing) we try to discuss it in 2025. Hopefully all processes and stages can be met. If that is not possible, we try to implement it in 2026 programs," she said.
Regarding wage and other aspirations, the council will work to prepare and discuss the increase in minimum wage (UMK) and sectoral wage by considering the decent living needs (KHL) survey in Kotabaru.
Chairperson of Gerbaksi Hatijah Hernowo stated that their aspiration had been conveyed and accomodated by the DPRD, and they await follow-up.
Regarding wage or salary, her party wants a 10 percent increase both in the minimum wage and sectoral wage in 2026.
This figure is based on the survey conducted by the Labor Party's research center, which had released an estimation of 8.5 to 10 percent increase.
"For sectoral wage, the scheme requested is based on a percentage, not a nominal amount. It is 15 percent of the current sectoral wage," she concluded.
