Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan DPRD Deputy Speaker Haji Muhammad Alpiya Rakhman disseminated the provincial regulation on Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in Kotabaru District, Tuesday.
Alpiya said socialization of regional regulation is part of effort to educate the public about the importance of protecting women and children, while also strengthening role of families and environment in preventing violence and discrimination.
“Women and children have the right to equal protection and opportunity in community life. Through this dissemination, we want to increase public understanding so they can work together to create safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for children's growth and women's empowerment,” he said.

He encouraged all elements of society to play an active role in monitoring and protecting women and children from various forms of violence, exploitation, and treatment that could harm their future.
The outreach was enthusiastically attended by various community members who took the opportunity to discuss and deepen their understanding of the implementation of regional regulation in their respective communities.
During the socialization, Alpiya was accompanied by Secretary of South Kalimantan Women's Empowerment, Child Protection , and Family Planning Office (DP3AK) Fathul Jannah and Head the office's Women's Protection Section Hj. Anita Mayasari.
