Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan wrestler Fahriansyah is ready to compete to represent Indonesia in the international championship to be held in Jordan next month.
Secretary of South Kalimantan All-Indonesia Wrestling Association (PGSI) Rijal Hamid expressed his pride for this achievement.
“Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), we are from South Kalimantan very proud of the achievements of our athlete, senior and elite athlete, Fahriansyah. He got an opportunity to compete in the international event in Jordan after Eid al-Fitr,” said Rijal Hamid here on Tuesday.
According to Rijal, the event will be attended by six of Indonesia's best wrestlers, including Fahriansyah who competes in the men's 76 kg freestyle class.
The wrestlers were gold winners at the previous National Sports Week (PON).
The event is also parts of the athletes; preparation for the next year's SEA Games.
Fahriansyah said he is very enthusiastic and ready to to give his best at the championship.
“This is a big chance for me to prove by abilities at international level. I will try my best to bring a good name of Indonesia and South Kalimantan,” he said.
