Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The government of South Kalimantan Province won three awards at the APBD Award 2024 (regional budget award) held by Home Affairs Ministry's Directorate General of Regional Financial Development in Jakarta, Wednesday.
“This achievement is the result of hard work of all level of the regional government who continue to be committed in managing transparent, accountable, and effective regional finances,” said South Kalimantan Province Regional Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar when confirmed from Banjarmasin.
The three awards are first place in the category of Highest Expenditure to Income Ratio Realization, first place in Highest Regional Expenditure category, and fourth place in the category of the Highest Regional Income Realization.

Roy dedicated the three awards to the people of South Kalimantan for always supporting the local government in realizing a better financial management.
“Hopefully the performance of regional budget in the future will be even better, and we can continue to maintain this award in 2025,” said Roy.
Daily Executive of Directorate General of Regional Financial Development Horas Muarits said the event was held offline and attended by 641 people and online attended by 385 peole. They consist of regional heads, regional secretaries, the provincial, district and city boards of development planning (Bappeda), and Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) throughout Indonesia.
Horas hopes this award to motivate all regional goverments to improve financial management performance and to use technology to support efficiency and accuracy in budget management.
Along with APBN Award 2024, the National Regional Finance Coordination Meeting was held, presenting speakers including National Development Planning Minister, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Director General of Fiscal Balance of the Ministry of Finance, Chair of KPK, and Deputy Head of BPKP for Supervision of Regional Financial Implementation.
Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian highlighted the mindset of regional heads in managing regional budget which focuses on regional spending without maximising the potential of regional pure income (PAD).
“Many regional heads only think about how to spend the budget, without innovating to increase revenue. Finally, many are trapped in corruption cases. In fact, healthy APBD management is not only about spending, but also how to increase PAD through creative breakthrough,” said Tito.
Tito also highlighted weakness of mindset of bureaucrats who tend to rely on transferring fund from central government without looking for ways to increase PAD.
