Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT PLN South and Central Kalimantan Main distribution Unit (PLN UID Kalselteng) has contributed to support downstreaming of palm oil industry in Central Kalimantan by supplying 555,000 Volt Ampere (VA) of electrical power to PT Swadaya Sapta Putra (SSP) in Parenggean, Sampit, at the beginning of fourth quarter.
PT SSP, which has been operating since 2005, produced up to 450 tons of plam oil per day for five working days and the electricity supply is expected to support it in processing palm kernel into crude palm oil (CPO), and others more efficiently.
PT SSP Mill Manager Parlindungan as quoted from PLN South and Central Kalimantan's PR press statement in Banjarbaru, Monday (Nov 25, 2024) expressed his appreciation to PLN for providing reliable and more efficient electricity.

"Thanks PLN, our company's operation is now officially use PLN electricity and we can save up to IDR300 million per month from fuel expenses," he pointed out.
Parlindungan said he is optimistic that reliable electricity from PLN will increase company productivity and have a positive impact on the welfare of employees as well as the surrounding communities.
Manager of PLN Customer Service Unit (UP3) Pangkalan Bun, Presly Silaen, stated that PLN is committed to support industrial growth in Central Kalimantan.
"Today we are providing reliable and efficient electricity for PT SSP industry. If compared to using diesel, PLN electricity is clearly more economical and environmentally friendly," he said.
Presly also invited business actors to focus on business development, while electricity needs will be fully managed by PLN.
General Manager of PLN South and Central Kalimantan Ahmad Syauki congratulated PT SSP for taking steps to swith to PLN electricity, so it could increase operation while saving on fuel cost.
"Welcome to PT SSP now become the big family of PLN customers. Hopefully this electricity supply can provide maximum added value for the company, employees, community and the regional government," he said.
