Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaraNewsKalsel) - PT PLN South and Central Kalimantan Area Manager for Barabai Gunawan said 9,600 customers in Banua Anam will still enjoy subsidy.
Especially for customers in the area of Barabai, which oversees Banua Anam (six districts), namely Tapin, HSS, HSU, HST, Balangan and Tabalong. Here PLN has 178,471 customers in category of 450 volt ampere (VA) and 900 VA.
"From that number only 9600 customers of 900 VA still receive subsidies," he said.
It is related to electricity rate to be increased gradually starting January 2017. As for the rate increase in January and February by 35 percent, in March-April will be up by 38 percent and 24 percent again from May to June.
Furthermore, starting July their rate will be equated with 1300 VA capacity, or the economy fares.
Gunawan explained the policy of appropriate electricity subsidies only to poor households.
Recipients of subsidies, he said, is a poor residents who qualify based on data from the National Team to Accelerate Poverty Eradication(TNPPK).
"Especially in the HST, from 72,000 customers, then 39 280 are subsidies recipients, consisting of 9,000 of 450 VA users and 2,400 900 VA customers," said Gunawan in appropriate electricity subsidy counseling attended by 161 heads of village throughout the district of HST, Thursday ( 23/2) in Barabai.
