Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The central government through the relevant ministry appreciated scalable policy of South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor to prevent and cope with haze disasters throughout the 2016.
His attention on the prevention of smog manifested in giving encouragement, attention and engaged directly with the community and government and private agencies, including the military and police, in various activities of environmental care actions.
Real action to save the environment from the haze as well as follow-up on the direct orders of President Joko Widodo on joint motion in tackling haze.
If compared to 2015 and spread of hotspots, according to the South Kalimantan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), as many as 1 291 hotspots. But in 2016 had been reduced and only recorded 56 hotspots.
"Alhamdulillah in every coordination meeting with the central government related to environmental issues, particularly smog, South Kalimantan was appreciated as successful in preventing and tackling environmental problems due to the haze in 2016," said the Governor.
According to the Governor, the success of the provincein preventing and combating haze throughout 2016 can not be separated from real participation of the entire community, the military and police, BPBD in districts and cities, environment social workers and the private sector, including the community itself.
Another factor is the reduction of fires in South Kalimantan along 2016 because the weather was relatively normal in addition to increasing public awareness and dissemination of measurable prevention.
Governor expresses gratitude to all level of society who are actively with the government preventing the occurrence of smog and other environmental disasters.
