Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Tapin, South Kalimantan, and the National Development Planning Ministry (Bappenas) has discussed the rural area development plans (RPKP) for food crops agriculture.
“We have held an audiance with Bappenas in Jakarta. This development of village will have a significant impact on the development of a wider region and widen economic access,” said acting Regent of Tapin M Syarifuddin in Rantau, Tapin, Saturday (August 31, 2024).
According to him, this must be pushed more optimally in regional perspective in order to accelerate regional development.
“Rural area development is an approach that enables identification and completion of village potential and problems in a comprehensive manner,” he said.

Syarifuddin expounded that rural area is an area outside big cities that have the main activities of agriculture and natural resources management, and function as places for settlement, government, social and economic services.
Head of Tapin Planning, Research and Development Agency(Bappelitbang) Meidy Haris Prayoga said development of rural area will make it easier to mobilize local potential and improve effectiveness of resource management.
“Rural area destination in Tapin include two sub-districts, Bungur and Tapin Tengah,” said Meidy.
Bungur Sub-district has four villages, Banua Padang, Banua Padang Hilir, Purut, and Bungur Baru, coering an area of 371.49 hectares.
The Sub-district of Tapin Tengah covers 12 villages, namely Tirik, Labung, Batang Lantik, Serawi, Kepayang, Hiyung, Mandurian, Mandurian Hilir, Pandahan, Pematang Karangan, Pematang Karangan Hilir, and Pematang Karangan Hulu.
