Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The ground breaking ceremony for Perintis Garuda bridge in Limbungan Village, Hampang Sub-district, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, marked the Indonesian National Armed Forces' (TNI's) commitment to open access for communities in remote areas.

"The construction of Perintis Garuda bridge is a tangible expression of Indonesian Army's commitment to supporting acceleration of infrastructure development in remote areas. This is the result of extraordinary synergy between TNI, regional government and the community through TNI community service," Commander of the XXII Tambun Bungai Regional Military Command (Pangdam) Major General Zainul Arifin remarked in Kotabaru via Zoom.

The Pangdam said that the Army reaffirms its commitment to open and build access for communities around villages in Hampang Sub-district.

"This bridge is built to improve inter-areas connectivity, to smooth logistics distribution, an open up economic access  for the community. We hope this bridge will help improve people welfare and strengthening the unity between TNI and the people," the Pangdam pointed out.

He also gave special message to personnel directly and actively involve in ensuring the smooth construction of the bridge.

"To all personnel to always prioritize safety and ensure the quality of work meets the applicable technical standards," he said.

The event continued with symbolic hand over of assistance to local community and the moment for Pangdam to greet district military (Kodim) personnel, before concluding with prayer.

The event was attended by Commander of 1004/Kotabaru Military District Lt.Col. Cecep Cahyadi, Commander of 884/Saijaan Battalion Lt.Col Priya Firmansyah, Kotabaru Regional Representative Council (DPD) member Agus Subejo, Commander of 1004-13/Kelumpang Hulu Military Sub-district Captain Damuri, representative of Navy Captain (Marine) Deni Ari Sukarno, Chief of Hampang Police Iptu Cuncun Subartono, Head of Limbungan Village Kurdi.
