Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT PLN Main Distribution Unit of South and Central Kalimantan (UID Kalselteng) had conducted maintenance on 253 electrical infrastructure without "blink" or power outage.
Some 48 personnel of special troop were deployed for Work Service in Tension Conditions (PDKB) series III in Sampit, Kotawaringin Timur (Kotim) District, Central Kalimantan Province, held from June 24 to 28, 2024.
Deputy Regent of Kotawaringin Timur Irawati as noted in a written statement from PT PLN UID Kalselteng in Banjarbaru, Wednesday, appreciated PLN's performance.
"We really support PDKB, especialy the works to repair 20 kilo Volt (kV) electricity network are carried out without blackout is something extraordinary and does not disrupt communityu activities," said Irawati who attended the opening ceremony of PDKB Service.

She had the opportunity to try out PLN's sophisticated equipment which was deployed to support PDKB and was considered very high risk, however the work went smoothly and without problems because it used special equipment and capabilities of PLN's special troop.
"I'm sure my friends are expert, but I still advice you to prioritize safety by using personal protective equipment and always focus on your work. Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly," said Irawati.
Not only 48 special officers, PLN also mobilized 21 PLN employees, 36 technical service officers, as well as six units of High Voltage Insulated Skylift or crane car that is safe against electric current to make PDKB Series III a success in Sampit.
General Manager of PLN UID Kalselteng Muhammad Joharifin appreciated all personnel and team that have carried out PDKB series III smoothly, safely, and without problems.
"Thank you to the entire team who participated in PDKB series III service in Sampit City. Alhamdulillah (Thank God) we have succeeded in carrying out maintenance, repairment and strengthening electricity system without any power outage felt by the community," said Joharifin.
He expounded that PDKB Service was also one of the factors that supported PLN in securing electricity supplies during the arrival of Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Sampit last week.
"We have proven that PDKB service has an impact that can be felt directly by the community. For instance, during the visit of RI 1 last week, the electricity continued to be on safely," said Joharifin.
PDKB service lasted five days targeting 32 feeders that supply electricity to customers along 1,524 kilometers circuit (kms) and did not experience any blackout during the activity.
"PLN is ready to optimize maintenance and repairment using without power outage methoed, so that people are not affected. The PDKB serice will contnue for UP3 Barabai, Kotabaru, and Banjarmasin," said Joharifin.
