Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Chairman of Indonesian Pharmacist Association (IAI) South Kalimantan Hasan Ismail said only four community health centers (puskesmas) have pharmacists from a total of 18 puskesmas in Tabalong.
"Ideally one puskesmas have one pharmacist, but in Tabalong only four community health centers that each have an pharmacist," said Hasan in Tanjung, Saturday.
Even in South Kalimantan Province, only about 30 percent of community health centers equipped with pharmacists with a total number as many as 365.
This condition, said Hasan, should be of interest of local government to add pharmacist as well as recruiting pharmacist under the non-permanent assignment program (PTT).
Even in Tabalong recorded only 25 pharmacists who do the work of pharmacy, includes quality control, distribution to drug information services.
Hasan also expects the provincial and district governments to improve cooperation in surveillance and drug distribution following a case of fake vaccines which also troubling the people of South Kalimantan.
"Regarding the fake vaccines until now there has been no findings in health care facilities in South Kalimantan, including in Banua Anam, particularly Tabalong, and we ensure the pharmacist is not involved with this case," said Hasan.
Although no case of fake vaccines found in this region, the branch of IAI in Tabalong, Balangan, Norh Hulu Sungai, and Central Hulu Sungai continue to disseminate relevant characteristics of fake vaccines as well as its authorized distributor.
