Amuntai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Flood disaster in North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District has increasingly widespread resulting 7,751 houses inhabited by 9,496 families (KK) or 27,652 people affected.
The HSU Disaster Mitigation Agency's data on Thursday stated that as of 09.30 Wita (Central Indonesian Time), nine out of 10 sub-districts in the regency were inundated by the floods which also submerged 11,758 meters of roads.
Residents hunting for iftar menus must be extra vigilant when crossing roads, because there are potholes that can cause accidents.
“(Besides that) looking for menu you have to turn around, because the main road in Amuntai is closed,” said a resident of Kebun Sari Amuntai, Fadli.
In fact the local government closed Ahmad Yani Road infront of the Regent's Office so as not to let children playing with water.

Part of road, such as Jalan Palang Merah beside the Pambalah Batung Hospital has invisible hole due to flooding and caused several motorists nearly stuck.
Floods in HSU is said to be coming from two districts neighbors, Tabalong and Balangan, and heavy rains for the last two days causing low areas in HSU to be flooded.
This is the third floods in March 2023. Previously, the flood occurred in February 2023.
Residents really hope that the local government to immediately distribute food assistance for flood-affected victims.
