Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor has instructed Health Agency to provide free health service at flood affected areas.
"As the governor has instructed, today we build a free health service post in Tunggul Irang Village, Banjar District," said Head of Regional Technical Service Unit (UPTD) of Health Crisis and Epidemic Service of the South Kalimantan Health Agency Sri Wahyuni in Banjarbaru, Wednesday.
Tunggul Irang Village is one of the areas affected by flooding due to high intensity of rains recenly.
As a corcern of the provincial government, prime health service are being improved for flood-affected victims.
She said currently cmomand post team is providing services to flood victims in Tunggu Irang Village, including providing oinment and medicine.
"Usually most flood victims get hives, so we bring a lot of the medicine with us," said Sri Wahyuni.
Other health services are treatment for people with hypertension, as well as for pregnant and lactating women by providing additional food and medicines.
“The community (is advised) to maintain health and live healthy and clean, sand to access health services at the nearest community health center (puskesmas) if they are sick, so they don't wait for illness to get worse," she said.
She assured that the Sout Kalimantan Health Office would continue to provide free health service posts at flood affected points, especially those currently quite severe in Banjar District area.
Apart from Banjar District, the flood also hit the districts of South Hulu Sungai, Central Hulu Sungai, North Hulu Sungai, and Barito Kuala.
