Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) prohibits shops, supermarkets and other shopping to give their consumer candy and other items as a change .
Chairman of the Commission on Education and Communication of BPKN David Tobing after signing a memorandum of understanding between BPKN, South Kalimantan government and the Faculty of Law University of Lambung Mangkurat here on Tuesday revealed, candy and other items are not included in the official currency of Indonesia.
"Because it does not include as a medium of exchange, then candy and others should not be a substitute for change (uang kembalian) of shopping," he said.
According to him, quite a lot of stores, supermarkets, mini markets and other shopping substitue their consumers change with candy on the reason of easier.
In addition, he said, is also common difference in price, especially in supermarkets and mini markets, between price on the label or shelf with the cashier.
"Not infrequently, the price of goods that are on the shelf to sell different from the price at the cash register. When these conditions occur, then the price charged to the consumer is the most affordable (lowest) price," he said.
Likewise, if there is a dispute of sales as a result of the label, then the price used is the cheapest price.
Not only that, added David, many stores, mini markets, supermarkets and other self-service, which offers consumers the change money to donate.
"The collection of donations should be based on the consent of the relevant government offices. Without the permission of the social institutions, especially the company, is forbidden to collect donations, including change of consumers," he said.
Moreover, he added, collecting change of consumer for donation, has not been clear as to where donated, and there was never a report, how total donations collected.

"Such practices, which are now kept under surveillance by the government, so that consumer rights will remain intact," he said.
