Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Sayed Jafar moved quickly to find solution by making a partnership and accelerating the plan to build sea toll to suppress inflation.
Sayed Jafar and Regent of Pasangkayu (previously North Mamuju), West Sulawesi, Ambo Djiwa, agreed to enhance their cooperation in tourism and sea toll when they met in Pasangkayu, Tuesday (January 31, 2023).
"By building a sea toll partnership with some regions it will make the economy of Kotabaru flow smoothly," Sayed Jafar noted in a statement here on Wednesday.
Sayed has visited the Pasangkayu District, West Sulawesi, to establish an agreement for the two district in tourism and sea toll, Tuesday (January 31, 2023).
According to Sayed, increasing the benefits of sea toll interconnection can expedite the flow of people and goods transportation exit and entry in several areas will be able to overcome the inflation problem.
"The smooth distribution of basic commodities, easy to reach between regions and meet the availability of logistic and foodstuffs, so as to reduce inflation in the two districts," he pointed out.
Through the sea toll later the price of food will be cheaper, because it directly brought from a number of districts and provinces in Sulawesi and Kalimantan.
The improvement of the cooperation is also an effort to promote the tourism potential as well as natural resources in the two districts,
Regent Ambo Djiwa admitted their increase in cooperation in sea transportation can increase the economy of both sides.
"The exchange of flow of food and other basic needs will boost the economy rapidly," he said,
Ambo Djiwa said that the agriculture and fishery sectors are the mainstay for this district.
