Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Tanah Bumbu District in South Kalimantan Province has recorded a coverage of 100 percent of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and is now being in the best condition with zero case of COVID-19.
"Based on the Ministtry of Health's data, as of May 26, 2022 as many as 238,577 people or 100 percent of the target in Tanah Bumbu had received the first dose of vaccine," Tanah Bumbu Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Tri Hambodo said in Batulicin, Saturday.
He expressed his gratitude to all residents of Tanah Bumbu for they had participated in the vaccination until the district could achieved the target of 100 percent at least for the first dose as desired by President Joko Widodo.
He also expressed high appreciation to all joint officers and health volunteers who have been involved in supporting the vaccination activities so far with no strings for realizing the immunity in the community.
Tri acknowledged that the instruction of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo through the South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rikwanto that the district and the city police (polres) to move quickly to complete the 100 percent vaccination had became a separate motivation for his ranks.
"We opened precision vaccine outlet day and night by picking up the ball to serve the community to get vaccine. Likewise, vaccine card raids were intensified, including by providing prizes and cookng bonuses for residents who get vaccinated," he expounded.
Now the Tanah Bumbu Police are focus on accelerating vaccine service for the second dose or complete vaccination target, whereas the current figure is 194,038 people or 81 percent.
So does the third dose or booster vaccine which so far has reached 44,203 people or 18 percent of the target that it need hard work to achieve the target
"Let's maintain this best condition, stay vigilant to COVID-19 transmission. Even though the president has taken a policy of easing masks we must not be euphiric (careless), remain disciplined with health protocols at certan times as directed by the government," Tri reminded.
Meanwhile, from 13 districts and cities in South Kalimantan only two have achieved 100 percent of the first dose vaccination, namely Tanah Bumbu and Balangan, which has reached 78 percent of the second dose coverage.
For the provincial level, the first dose have been administered to 2,959,240 people or 93.61 percent, the second dose to 2,344,881 people or 74.18 percent of the total population of 4,073,584 and the target was 3,161,137 people or 78 percent.
