Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of Tanah Bumbu HM. Zairullah Azhar received an award from the National Forum for Child Welfare Institution - Child Orphanage (LKSA-PSAA) for his care and concern for orphans and duafa.
Chairman of LKSA-PSAA KH Syakir Ridho handed over the award to Abah Zairullah Azhar at the opening of the 2nd LKSA-PSAA National Leadership Meeting at the Mahligai Bersujud building, Batulicin, Monday.
Regent Abah Zairullah Azhar, who is also caretaker of Istana Anak Yatim orphanage in Tanah Bumbu, welcomed and highly appreciated National Forum of LKSA-PSAA meeting to be held here.
"We as local government will always support and make the national forum meeting for child welfare institution for orphans throughout Indonesia successful," said Zairullah.
The meeting was aimed to improve coordination of related parties and strengthening the institution of LKSA and orphans throughout Indonesia.
Tanah Bumbu itself has Darul Azhar Bersujud Foundation or popularly known as Istana Anak Yatim which was established in 2014. The foundation accomodates and sends thousands of orphans to school.
The orphans were given general knowledge as well as religious studies. Many of them are good in reciting Al-Qur’an, even some of them give ceramah at various majelis taklim (religious study forum).
Through the national forum, LKSA is hoped to be able to become an institution that help the government in prospering orphans and abandoned children in Indonesia, especially in Tanah Bumbu, which is now making its efforts to realize Bumi Bersujud (its nickname) as the Veranda of Medina.

Meanwhile, Secretary-general of LKSA-PSAA National Forum H Ahmad Suhari appreciated Tanah Bumbu Regent who is also caregiver for orphans from various regions in Indonesia.
"Therefore, we give an award to H.M Zairullah Azhar, for his real contribution to caring for orphans and the needy(duafa)," said Suhari.
"We have seen for ourselves how much he loves orphans," he said.
LKSA-PSAA National Forum has so far given three awars to figures who were considered inspiring , especially concern for orphans and duafa.
The three figures were the late KH Masum, the leader of Ponpes Al Islah Bondowoso, the Governor of Riau Syamsuar, and today the Regent of Tanah Bumbu H.M Zairullah Azhar.
