Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), the best state university with A accreditatin in Kalimantan, is looking for Al-Quran memorizers (hafiz) to become students.
"Please this year's high school graduates who have memorized Al-Quran by heart to join ULM. We provide a special quota," said Deputy Rector I for Academic Affairs Prof Aminuddin Prahatama Putra here on Friday.
ULM, he said, really hopes that this year more hafiz Quran will become students.
In addition to the regular admission of of SNMPTN and SBMPTN, ULM also provides independent selection for hafiz Quran. Registration begins on June 1 to October 7, 2022.
According to Prof. Amin, increasing the number of students who are expert in religious studies, including Al-Quran memorizers, is a priority for ULM to build an academic atmosphere with character and full of integrity.

Al-Quran memorizers are also prepared to take part in the National Students Quran Recital Competition (MTQMN) which held annually.
Last September 2021, ULM hosted the 2nd year edition of MTQMN which was held virtually in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Participants came from 120 universities throughout Indonesia with five branches being contested, namely Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an, Musabaqah Tartil Qur’an, Musabaqah Syarhil Qur’an, Musabaqah Content of Qur’an, and Musabaqah Hifzhil Qur’an 10 and 20 Juz.
Prof Amin said that as a disability-friendly campus, ULM also provides special service for disabilities or prospective students with special needs. At ULM, there are supporting facilities provided, including volunteers to helping students with special needs while attending lectures.
