Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The haze began attacking students in the Meratus mountains, Central Hulu Sungai (HST). It fear would interfere learning process in the area.
Acting HST Regent Ngadimun here on Tuesday said government will attempt to minimize attacks by anticipating land burning in the area.
"We strongly support efforts to prevent burning of land by setting up posts in a few places to minimize smog attacks more severe," he said.
Earlier, the acting regent visited several schools in Meratus to witness the condition of students who were still studying in between bouts of haze.
On that occasion, Ngadimun distributing masks to all students of SMPN I and MTsN Hantakan, which obliged them to wear during the attack of smog.
"Please always pay attention and keep them healthy. Do not let this smog attacks your health, because without health intelligence will be in vain," he said.
Although time has shown at 13:00 more, when acting regent accompanied by all relevant agencies heads came to the schools, but the haze still blanketed the region.
Head of HST Health Agency drg Kusdianto said it has not been suggested that the schools in the area to be closed, although the smog has been attacked, but still within tolerable limits.
