Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Tanah Laut Regent H M Sukamta stated that in implementing the level 4 public activity restriction (PPKM) all elements must continue to work hard for the next two weeks in order to reduce the number of COVID-19 positive patients in the district.
“We hope that by imposing level 4 PPKM positivity rate will decrease because it currently reached 60 percent. While the death rate is 2.65 percent, this is quite high,” he said.
The Regent together with the Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), the district secretary, heads of government agencies, heads of sub-districts held a virtual meeting to discuss the level 4 restriction, Tuesday (10/8).
Several policies were taken by the district government to adjust the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction No. 30 of 2021 to the condition and situation in Tanah Laut.

HM Sukamta is committed to implementing 3T (testing, tracing, treatment) to reduce the rate of transmission and prioritize the safety of those who are vulnerable to death.
He also said that efforts to accelerate vaccination should continue to protect as many people as possible.

The determination of the area of level 4 PPKM, he explained, was guided by the indicators for adjusting public health efforts and social restrictions in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic set by the Minister of Health.
"This instruction of Minister of Health to take effect from August 10 to 23, 2021," he stressed.
