Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina declared that the city has set the status of level 2 public activity restriction (PPKM) to stem the high infection of COVID-19.
The level 2 public activity restriction was set after the city government and the Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) held a monthly coordination meeting at Roditha Hotel Wednesday to readiness and anticipation of a spike in COVID-19 cases.
"We agree the PPKM status of Banjarmasin City is still level 2 and almost heading to level 3," said Ibnu Sina.
The coordination meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor H Arifin Noor, DPRD Speaker Harry Wijaya, Commander of 1007/Banjarmasin Military Command Col. Inf. Oki Andriansyah Adiwirya, Head of the District Court Moch Yuli Hadi SH MH, and related government working units (SKPD).
According to Ibnu, the level 2 PPKM is implemented from July 21 to 25. If in the next five days, the cases of COVID-19 continue to rise significantly the status will be raised to level 3.
Fow the time being, he said, the rules of the level 2 PPKM are not much different from the previous micro-scale PPKM.
"Face-to-face learning activities are still allowed, but only in the green and yellow zone. It is not allowed in the orange zone," he said.
Ibnu Sina asked the public to strictly applying health protocols, so as not to happen the worst things when the city has to enforce level 3 to 4 status of PPKM.
"The level 3 PPKM is the same as the orange zone where the restriction is quite strict," he said.
