Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office (DKP) distributed 1,000 fish packages to the public to welcome the visit of Indonesia's National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in Banjarbaru, Thursday.
Head of the office Rusdi Hartono said the packages which contained mackerel and patin (pangasius) fish were distributed for free to residents attending fresh fish bazaar at the South Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters in Banjarbaru, Thursday (August 21, 2025).

“This is our active participation in welcoming the visit of the National Police Chief. Hopefully the community and National Police (Polri), especially South Kalimantan Regional Police, can work together to ensure that South Kalimantan remains condusive,” he said.
Free fish distribution was also part of Love to Eat Fish Movement (Gemarikan) program to raise public awareness of the importance of fish consumption as a source of nutritious and affordable protein.
Fish, he said, is a source of animal protein rich of omega-3, vitamin, and mineral that are important for children's growth and development as well as heart health.
In addition to fish, the packages also contained rice and cooking oil, to further assisting household needs of residents.
One of residents from Panyipatan, Tanah Laut District, Sukri expressed his gratitude of receiving the assistance.
“Hopefully, we can continue to receive such assistance. Thank you National Police Chief,” he said.
