Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Although it was yet to be certain they will depart or not to the Holy Land, the prospective Haj pilgrims (JCH) in Tapin District, South Kalimantan, remained to be vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Public Relation of Tapin Office of Religious Affairs Ministry Mursalin in Rantau on Tuesday said the vaccination for the Haj candidates was as preparation if an instruction comes for departure. 

"The number of haj pilgrims who has been vaccinated was 60 percent or about 109 people. Some of them were in the first stage and the others were in the second stage of vaccination," he said.

Vaccination is mandatory for Haj candidates, he said, because it is a provision from the Saudi Arabian government. 

Regarding the departure of JCH, he informed that there was still no confirmation from the Provincial Office of the Religious Affairs Ministry, the central office of the Ministry, or from Saudi Arabia. 

"Still don't know whether to go or not," he said.
