Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, prepares 300 GeNose test bags per day for prospective aircraft passengers.
"So, starting tomorrow we open GeNose C19 test service for prospective passengers who want to travel by air," said General Manager of the airport Amiruddin Florensius, Thursday.
He emphasized that GeNose C19 is only an optional service for prospective passengers to get a COVID-19 free certificate, while the antigen rapid test and PCR swab test remain valid.
Amiruddin said that GeNose C19 has some advantages, including a fast process and a relatively cheap tariff of IDR40 thousand.

"We have just tested and the estimated time was only about nine minutes from data verification to the test. The test only took about three minutes. There is also an app that speedsspeed up the process," he said.
Amiruddin believes the GeNose C19 can speed up the departure process of prospective passengers without having to worry about the long procedures of the COVID-19 test.

Prospective passengers are only asked to exhale into a special bag then the GeNose C19 can detect whether someone is positive or negative for COVID-19. It detects volatile organic compound (VOC) that is formed due to infection that exists with the breath.
