Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District Government, TNI, and Polri agreed to apply a micro-scale post of implementation of community restrictions (PPKM) in 13 villages in six sub-districts. The post was initiated by HSS Police.
HSS Police Chief AKBP Siswoyo on Wednesday (Feb 10, 2021) in Tibung Raya said that the micro-PPKM is applied in the resilient village of Tibung Raya, Kandangan Sub-district, on the basis that a resident was recorded as a COVID-19 patient. It was an effort to cut the spread of the virus.
"The micro-PPKM will be held from February 9 to 22, 2021," he said in his remarks at the launching of the micro-PPKM, Wednesday.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, explained that the scope of restrictions on micro-PPKM includes restrictions on offices or workplaces, limited to 50 percent.
Teaching and learning activities remain online, while essential sectors related to the community need to be allowed to operate at 100 percent capacity.
Restaurants offering dine-in services limited to 50 percent, while operating hours of shopping centers curtailed to 9 p.m.
Construction activities allowed at 100 percent capacity and places of worship will function at a maximum capacity of 50 percent on the condition that they apply strict health protocols, he added.
Public facilities and socio-cultural activities will be temporarily suspended, while public transportation will remain limited to their capacity and operational hours.
Hartarto emphasized that the restrictions are intended for the successful handling of the pandemic and national economic recovery.
For the time being, Siswoyo said, 13 villages are prioritized to implement micro-PPKM based on data on COVID-19 cases in HSS. The 13 villages are in six sub-districts, namely Kandangan, Kalumpang, Daha Utara, Sungai Raya, Simpur, and Daha Selatan.
"Although HSS is still in the yellow zone, we are striving to prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases. We must remain vigilant. By applying micro-PPKM we hope to change the status of HSS to a green zone," said Secretary of the district Muhammad Noor.
