Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - As many as 1,610 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, received working capital as presidential Assistance (Banpres) called Bantuan Presiden Produktif Untuk Usaha Mikro (BPUM) each of IDR2.4 million.
The aid was symbolically handed over by Regent HM Sukamta at the Tuntung Pandang Building in Pelaihari, Monday (Oct 5, 2020).
He said, BPUM is not the same as Direct Cash Assistance (BLT). It is devoted to productive working capital for UMKM, who are among the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
BPUM, he said, was distributed to maintain stabilization as well as to increase the productive business of UMKM.
“They are experiencing an economic condition that continues to decline, therefore the assistance from President is expected to help the economy to be more stable, even much better,” he pointed out.

Sukamta hopes that BPUM has been submitted to be used as well as possible to drum up micro business.
He emphasized that the assistance they otained not to be spet outside Tanah Laut, let alone buying a cellphone,
Meanwhile, Head of Cooperative, Small Business and Trade Office H Syahrian Nurdin said, his party had collected data of SMEs, and they were 13,700 spread across 11 sub-districts in Tanah Laut.
Also attending the event were Regional Secretary Ahmad Hairin, Head of BRI Pelaihari branch Tony Irawan, Assistant for Economic Development and People's Welfare, heads of related government working units, Head of Pelaihari Sub-district Dwi Anggraini, heads of villages and urban villages in Pelaihari, and invited guests.
