Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province H Abdul Haris Makkie said, after Banjarmasin, there are still four districts and cities in the approval process of the Ministry of Health to impose Large Scale Social Restriction (PSBB).
Three of districts and city, said Haris Makkie, who is also the Chief of South Kalimantan Task Force for COVID-19 Mitigation Acceleration, adjacent to the "City of Thousand Rivers" Banjarmasin.
"Namely Banjarbaru City, Banjar District, and Barito Kuala (Batola) District," he said when receiving PPE assistance from the Central Executive Board (DPP) Chairman of Golkar Party Airlangga Sutarto handed over by the Chairman of the Provincial Executive Board (DPD) H Supian HK, Friday (April 24, 2020).
Another one, he added, is Tanah Bumbu (Tanbu) District.
Previously, Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani announced the city readiness to enact large scale social restriction in early May 2020 after completing requirements to the enforcement of the measures.
"We are ready to impose PSBB in Banjarbaru City in early May if the proposal is approved by the South Kalimantan Provincial Government and the Ministry of Health," he said accompanied by Deputy Mayor Darmawan Jaya Setiawan, Wednesday.
Haris Makkie hoped the outbreak of the new Coronavirus disease or COVID-19 will soon pass from this province. "If the outbreak subsides, or even passes, the four city and districts in South Kalimantan will not apply PSBB, and it will be revoked in Banjarmasin," he continued.
"Therefore, I hope that all levels of society obey the government's recommendations and protocol of COVID-19 so that the dangerous and life-threatening virus will soon pass," said Haris Makkie.
