Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of the Class II B Barabai Detention Center Syekh Walid, after a sudden urine test on all officers and inmates without exception, stated that the test result showed that all negative.
"Alhamdulillah, after the tests have been held, all employees and prisoners who are negative of using drugs. It means we declare the Barabai Detention Center clean of drug," he remarked.
The urine tests to 59 prison officials and 33 inmates were carried out without prior notice. Once after morning exercise, they immediately examined and test for urine.
"This is a progressive step and our seriousness in eradicating drug in the prison environment. All of our officers and inmates have urine tested," Syekh Walid pointed out after being test on Saturday.
According to him, the urine test was the mandate of the Directorate General of Correction in its circular regarding the B03 performance target report to eradicate drug in detention centers or prisons.
"But, we previously also held a periodic examination both on employees and inmates," he said.
Walid insisted in order for the Barabai Prison to remain clean from drug trafficking, he reminded HST to keep its commitment to going to a region free of corruption (WBK).
"We will take firm action to whoever related to narcotics, both officers and prisoners will be processed legally if the involve in illicit goods," he said.
