Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The ceiling of one of the corner of Syamsudin Noor International Airport was damaged by strong wind or tornado that struck the airport area in Banjarbaru, Saturday night (Dec 28, 2019).
"It happened last night caused ceiling damage near the smoking area of the passenger's departure terminal. After the incident, the area was immediately cleared by officers," said Head of Syamsudin Noor Airport's Communication and Legal Aditya Putra Patria here on Sunday (Dec 29, 2019).
he said, the ceiling effected by th strong winds fell around the place. "The only damaged part was ceiling and it not interfere with flight schedule both at night or the day. We will evaluate it all," he said.

The airport building which has gained international status is 77.562 square meter extent and can accomodate as many as 7 million passengers per year from previously only 1,3 passengers per year.
Apron or aircraft parking can accomodate 14 narrow body aicrafts. Other facilities includes 3 garbarata (aviobridge), 42 check-in counter, and 2 baggage conveyor increasingly guarantee passengers comfort and safety.
In addition, it has a parking lot of 34.360 meter square which is able to accomodate 1.524 four wheels vehicles and 720 two wheels vehicles. It also provided with a new mosque with a capacity of 1.186 people from previously only 200 people.
