Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Klotok (motor boat) carrying three people, including the driver, crashed into a tie-up barge and resulted in one passenger allegedly drowned along the klotok.
Klotok drivers, Sulaiman, here on Thursday said the collision took place on Wednesday (18/9) afternoon around 14:00 pm in the waters of Pasir Mas, West Banjarmasin.
The three went from Kelayan, South Banjarmasin, towards Tabunganen, Barito Kuala district, to transport iron. However, when crossing the territorial waters of Pasir Mas, there was a big waves and strong winds. Consequently klotok carried to the outskirts of the Barito River.
Unlucky for the third person, namely Sulaiman (28), Misran (40), Syahrani (40), klotok which they were riding hit a barge mooring in Nogo Patmolo dock ships.
Misran who was in the stern of the boat was thrown into the river and drowned along klotok rupture in the bow of the ship.
"I survived because Syahrani and desperately tried to swim, but our friends Misran allegedly drowning due sucked klotok also sinking after collision," he said at Banjarmasin Water Police Unit Headquarters.
The search for victims was carried out using vessels Down Operations Control (BKO) from the National Police Headquarters and was helped by the South Kalimantan National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).
"But the search on Wednesday (18/9) afternoon until the evening had to be stopped due to the constraints of the waves and strong winds, so the search continued on Thursday (19/9)," he told Antaranews. *** ***
