Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of South Kalimantan Regional Office Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Imam Suyudi said prisons and correctional centers (Bapas) must be free from illegal levies (pungli).
"Kemenkumham South Kalimantan continues to make war and combat any alleged illegal payments in prisons and Bapas," he said, Sunday.
He said the free from pungli command was delivered directly by the head office of Kemenkumham in the presence of prison and Bapas Banjarmasin employees.
The purpose to be free of extortion (pungli) order is to realize a change in order to succeed in national development to bring the country to work and prospering self-reliance.
"We want officers working to serve and not to be served as the society hope to obtain fast service without pungli," he said.
Meanwhile, Head Division of Corrections of Kemenkumham South Kalimantan Harun Sulianto here said the officers must provide a fast and free service, avoiding extortion and work in a professional, accountable, synergies, transparent and innovative (PASTI).
"Do not ever break the rules, and if there are officers who are found in prisons or Bapas will be dealt with firmly," said the former Palembang Prison warden.
Kemenkumham now aggressively combat extortion. For that people are asked to report if they becomes victims of extortion by officers in the area of Kemenkumham South Kalimantan, said Harun.
