Banjar Regent Saidi Mansyur came down the field to the community to disseminate what so-called the Manis Bapanting, a program to reduce stunting.

The Regent met the community in Sungai Rangas Tengah Village, Martapura Barat Sub-district, which was chosen for a place of socialization of the Health Office on Tuesday.

"Manis Bapanting is the Banjar District Government program that aims to prevent stunting that can interfere with children's growth and development, thus it has an impact on their future," he said.

Socialization, he said, is to enrich the knowledge of the community, especially mothers, in child care, because one of the causes of stunting is parenting errors.

"We appeal to the participants of socialization which is dominated by mothers to seriously taking part in the activity Makanya, so they have the knowledge to prevent stunting in the community," he said.

Sungai Rangas Tengah Village is one of the river tourism destinations with a characteristic view of fish cages with the background of the Meratus Mountains. This village is expected to rise in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
