Paringin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Dharma Setyawan, teacher at the state high school of SMAN 1 Paringin, became one of teachers in Indonesia who passed the selection to win the 2019 Educator and Education Personnel Training Program abroad.
Dharma, that what this history teacher familiarly called, became the only teacher from Balangan, South Kalimantan, who passed the Achieved Teacher program from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud).
According to Dharma, currently the participants are participating in training to prepare for departures abroad to run the program.
He along with 30 other teachers, including the P4TK (Center for Development and Empowerment of Educators and Education Personnel) group, PKN (civic education) and IPS (social science) teachers will depart to Australia. They will be in the Kangaroo Country for three to five weeks following the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) training at Monash University Melbourne, Australia.
"Selection is done by the Ministry of Home Affairs and is purely based on achievement and involvement in P4TK activities, both PKN and IPS subjects," Dharma said when talking to reporter via telephone on Friday (1/3/2019).
According to him, this program is an effort to increase knowledge in the application of learning that leads to the ability to face the industrial revolution 4.0.
Of course, this is a pride and an opportunity to be more accomplished in the future, especially in producing students from Balangan to have high achievement and competitiveness at the regional and national level.
"Personally we are certainly proud and for other teacher friends. We have to make it a motivation to continue to improve our ability and achievement," he said.
